Amazing Sculptures of Magnificent Animals Created From Rolled Strips of Discarded Newspaper

Japanese artist Chie Hitotsuyama grew up in the newspaper business where she learned how to craft with the scraps. During a trip Africa, Hitotsuyama witnessed the harm being done to rhinoceroses because of the demand for their horns. Armed with a new appreciation for all forms of life, she set about crafting magnificent likenesses of wild animals in their natural environments by using rolled up strips of newspaper that she masterfully arranges and glues each piece into place until her amazing sculptures are complete.

Chie Hitotsuyama breathes artistic life and value into the newspapers and repurposes them into new shapes by applying her original sensitivity and delicate manual skills. Life is the theme found in all of her works. Animals of various types are living their respective lives as if they were a matter of course.
