Amazing Footage of Previously Unseen Creatures That Live at the Bottom of the Ocean Floor

While on its three-month 2016 voyage around the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument, the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) ship Okeanos captured absolutely gorgeous footage of several previously unseen deep sea creatures that live at the bottom of the deepest ocean floor.

NOAA’s Okeanos research ship has been cruising the seas above the trench, which plunges 11 kilometres into the Pacific, since April. Researchers have been using sonar and a remotely operated vehicle to study the ocean there down to 6 kilometres.
