A recent lesson from TED-Ed and science writer Emma Bryce gives an animated explanation of how human kidneys work. The primary job of the kidneys is to filter unneeded waste from the blood and send it out of the body as urine. The kidneys do this constantly, filtering all the blood in the body up to 25 times per day.
