A TED-Ed Animation About the Nature of Reality

In the latest animation by TED-Ed, educator James Zucker and artist Kyra Kupetsky tackle the big question of how we know we’re really real. The short kicks things off with a brief introduction to the work of famed French philosopher René Descartes.

All his knowledge had come from his sensory perceptions of the world. Same as you. You know you’re watching this video with your eyes, hearing it with your ears. Your senses show you the world as it is. They aren’t deceiving you — but sometimes they do.
