Brazilian artist Antonio Vicentini has created a surreal and fairly sarcastic animated short that traces the history of skateboarding from its inception in 1960s California to its rise as a global phenomenon.
On the other side of the map, we had a bunch of California surfers bored with shitty waves, but with extra time to smoke pot. That’s when some of these guys came up with the idea of surfing on the street, tweaking some wood planks with roller[skate] wheels.
