A Remarkable Teacher Greets Each of His Students Everyday With a Unique Handshake of Their Own

Barry White, Jr., a remarkable fifth-grade teacher at the Ashley Park Pre K – 8 School greets each of his students every morning with a unique handshake of their very own before class. Inspired by basketball player LeBron James‘ habit of shaking hands with each of his Cavaliers teammates, White told Good Morning America that he wanted to use this same method develop an unbreakable bond with his students. He also explained how he remembers each personalized shake.

You see that bond and how close they [the players] are…I wanted to bring that feeling into the entire 5th grade. …It’s muscle memory at this point …I do it so much with them. They love coming up to me and doing it. I just know the certain moves that go with certain kids because it’s personalized.
