Seventeenth century characters inhabit a deserted Swedish castle in the photo series “A Frozen Tale” by Australian photographer Alexia Sinclair. Sinclair was inspired to create the series after the Swedish government invited her to shoot at Skokloster Castle, an unusually well-preserved 17th century Baroque castle near Stockholm. Shooting at the castle proved a challenge, as the unheated structure drops below freezing in the winter, and there is no electricity. Sinclair discusses the series in this Profoto Blog interview.
