When Robert Borba, a rancher and self-describe cowboy in Eagle Point, Oregon, drove down to his local Walmart to buy some dog food, he heard a woman screaming that a thief had just stolen her bike. Acting quickly, Borba retrieved his horse from a nearby trailer, began circling his trusty lasso and caught the would-be robber by his feet – literally stopping a crime in its tracks. Borba spoke with KOBI-5News about the surprising incident.
I hear a lady yelling, ‘Stop him he stole my bike’. …Grabbed Old Grey from the trailer and went for him. …I just roped him and the rope went down around his feet and I just rode off like I would if I’d roped a cow or something by myself…Poor gals bike that could have been her only transportation…stealing ain’t right so I figured get him stopped you know?
