A Captivating Video of a Hamburger With All the Fixings Being Deconstructed In Slow Motion

Filmmaker Steve Giralt has created a truly incredible video of a hamburger complete with all of the fixings (bacon, cheese, mustard, ketchup, onion and tomato) being deconstructed in slow motion before falling back perfectly into place alongside a cold beer. In an article Giralt wrote on PetaPixel, he explains this was done in one shot and how he got it to work so beautifully.

Some of the tools in my ever-growing toolkit include welding, woodworking, plastics, micro circuit building, 3D printing, 3D design, Arduino programming, power supplies, and a decade long track record of making high quality and beautiful imagery for clients. And earlier this year, I decided it was time for me to produce a project that encompassed all my talents and skills. …The final video is a synchronized work of art. In the half second of real time, multiple Arduino controlled servo motors with custom 3D printed scalpel blades cut through elastic bands holding up the top bun, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomato, bacon, meat, and lower bun while a 3D printed air powered catapult launched ketchup and mustard blobs into each other.

Giralt also generously provided a comprehensive behind-the-scenes video showing how it all came together.
