How silly people are – Facebook has great privacy filters. Most of the people on my Facebook list don’t even get to see my status updates, including my sister and her daughters.

My mom doesn’t want to hear some of the things I say on FB. She already has an FB account, actually, but my sister and I have agreed not to friend her for her own protection.

My 13 year old son is on FB. We have a “totally transparent” computer use rule in our house, so he knows that we can look at whatever he does online at any time regardless. On occasion, he’s used 4 letter words in his online updates… the punishment is that we change his status to something embarrassing, or add comments that let him know that big daddy and big mommy are watching. It’s amazing what a well-placed Mylie Cyrus reference will do to iffy behavior…

My hope is that social networking sites actually teach youth how to behave in public again…

I actually have a crazy Aunt Ida, and my mom is on FB. She also looks in my medicine cabinet and asks embarrassing questions about its contents. Auuugggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!

i’m old enough to be on both sides of this — i have teenage kids on facebook, and 60-something parents, too! i actually probably censor myself more because of my kids than my parents…

There are so many people on Facebook now (from work, etc.) that I pretty much self-censor already, which is good and bad I guess (won’t post something I’ll later regret being out there).

I think that if my parent’s joined FB, they would be the type to install every app known to FB-kind and send me a billion requests to be their vampire/pirate/ninja/zombie/etc because they would think it were funny, like the billion funny-must-read FWD’ed spam emails they send me already
