98 Year Old Woman Gets Her Driver’s License Back So She Can Help Her Neighbor

I lost my driver’s license because somebody thought I was too old.

This video posted by storytelling site I Like Giving features Evelyn, a beautiful 98 year old woman who recently lost her driver’s license due to her age. Evelyn lives in a retirement community without any public transportation which left her and her neighbors stranded. Unwilling to break the promise she made to drive her friend Joyce to the grocery store, Evelyn went to her local Department of Motor Vehicles, took each of the required tests, passed with flying colors and took Joyce to the store. This was her way, she said, of giving back to her community.

I’m on the earth, I’m here and if I can contribute I will. Shouldn’t we all? And not just think of ourselves? Like I said, I don’t have money to give, but I can give myself, my time.
