Sunday night I braved the extreme cold in New York and made my way over to the Apple store that never closes, located on 5th Avenue (between 57th and 58th street). That’s right it is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In general is pretty strange to go to an Apple store around midnight on Sunday and on top of that, it wasn’t at all empty. There around 50 people in the store paying their respect to the Apple inside the temple of Steve Jobs.
The store’s hours are not the only thing that makes it unique. Opened last May, the store is located underground, below a giant 32’ glass cube with a spiral staircase that goes down to the store. The grounds are patrolled by several security guards, so I wasn’t able to shoot inside cube or store, but I did take a few photos from outside.

I took a bunch of pictures inside using PhotoBooth and the cameras built into the laptops and iMacs call over the floor… security didn’t seem to mind that; or the people Skyping across the world on other computers…
